The 2nd Annual Refrigeration Conference, welcomed more than 100 participants from regional and international companies at Manama, Bahrain. The conference, organised by Technical Review Middle East magazine under Alain Charles Publishing Managed Events, featured high profile speakers from government and industry. Delegates included representatives of government ministries, public and private companies, and consultants. The event focused on improving safety standards in every sector by bringing together government and policy regulators, contractors and solution providers to share experiences and views to help tackle refrigeration challenges across the Middle East.

The two-day event was divided into presentations on various topics on day one and a masterclass on day two. Some of the presentations included: “Temperature abuse in frozen food and conforming of health and hazards”, “Effective methods to implement food safety in refrigeration” and “Benefits of air curtains in cold storage applications”. The conference featured speakers such as Carsten Dahlgaard, global sales director, Danfoss; Ibrahim Alanazi, senior food inspector, Saudi Food and Drug Authority; Pontus Grimberg, export director, Frico; Irshad Muhammed, manager QHSE and food safety, Gulf Salt Company; Brian Suggit, chairman, Eurovent Middle East and Ghaleb Abusaa, engineer arbitrator, Ghaleb Abusaa Office (GASO).

On the second day, the audience were given detailed training on refrigeration systems by Ghaleb Abusaa, Engineer-Arbitrator, (GASO). Some of the topics of the masterclass were understanding refrigeration systems and its properties, refrigeration system design and its functions, ammonia refrigeration systems and its importance and advanced troubleshooting of refrigeration systems.
